Mark K Shadle , age 100, of 756 1st Street, Pottsville, formerly of Hegins and Palo Alto, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at Rest Haven, Schuylkill Haven. He was born on Tuesday, January 30, 1912, in Hegins, a son of the late Charles M and Lillie Bixler Shadle. He retired from PP&L, Palo Alto. He was a member of the First Evangelical United Methodist Church, Pottsville. He was also a member of the National Council Junior Order United Mechanics,Tennessee. Mark enjoyed woodworking. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna M Kline Shadle in 2010. He is survived by two daughters Gloria Jean Shadle of Pottsville and Gail M Spleen and her husband Frank of Palo Alto; and two grandsons Brent D Spleen of Pottsville and Brandon M Spleen of Palo Alto. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at 11:00 am, with Rev. JoAnn M Darrow officiating. A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial was made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View. Condolences can be left for the family at www.buffingtonreed.com .
