Mark L. Bixler, age 74, of 150 Kushwa Road, Spring Glen, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville. He was born on Monday, August 28, 1933 in Spring Glen, a son of the late Lester E Bixler and the late Grace M (Hoffman) Bixler. He served in the US Army. He was a truck driver for the former Kenneth Bloch Hauling and Excavating, Valley View and a self employed farmer. He was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Fearnot. He was also a member of the Sacramento Fire Company and the Woodmen of the World, Pitman. He enjoyed camping and auto racing. He is survived by his wife, Shirley K. (Bortz) Bixler, to whom he was married for 54 years. He is also survived by a son, Steven M Bixler and his wife, Tracy of Spring Glen; and a grandson, Daniel S Bixler of Spring Glen. Services were held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Rev. William Danis officiating. A viewing was held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial was made in St. Peter's Cemetery, Fearnot. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Peter's United Methodist Church, P.O.
