Marilyn M. Kehler, 79, wife of Junior C. Kehler, 620 W. Main St., Valley View, PA passed away March 23, 2014. The couple celebrated 62 years of marriage. She died of a long illness with leukemia and complications. She was the daughter of the late Elmer E. and Mae (Hauck) Maurer. She loved to travel, read, decorate and do crossword puzzles. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins, where she was an organist for 52 years. She also was a member of the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens and was a pianist there. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Clyde. She is also survived by three children, Rory S. and wife Marie (Mullen) of Herndon, Robert L. of Owings Mills, MD and his companion Stephanie Lee, Melissa G wife of Samuel Zimmerman of Pitman; six grandchildren Mike and Megan (Stehr) Zimmerman, Tricia Zimmerman, Charlie Zimmerman all of Pitman, Jennifer, wife of Nicholas Strauss, Loveland, Colorado, Garret Kehler of Smithsburg, MD, Devon Kehler, Tucson, Arizona, Anna Zischkau, Tempe, Arizona, two step grandchildren, Angie Sutton and Scott Ramer of Herndon, three great grandchildren Lorelei, Carynne and Noah Zimmerman of Pitman; one brother, Robert P. Maurer and his wife Mary from Riverside California. Also surviving are several cousins, nieces, nephews and her beloved dog, Muffin. Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View. Visitation was also be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 9-11 AM at Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins where the funeral service followed at 11 am with Rev. Warren Egebo officiating.
