Marie Maude Herb, age 96, of Barto, formerly of Tremont, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2008 at her residence. She was born on Wednesday, July 3, 1912 in Hegins, a daughter of the late William F. Schwartz and Maude (Stutzman) Schwartz. She retired as a seamstress from the former Bobbie Rogers Mfg, Tower City. She was of the Protestant Faith. Her husband, Daniel H Herb passed away in 1968. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Betty A Maurer in 1973; a brother William Schwartz; and by four sisters Elizabeth Schwartz, Mary Schwartz, Queene Schwartz, and Tillie Huntzinger. She is survived by two sons, William D Herb of Pottstown and Dale H Herb of Pine Grove; two daughters, Faye L Eyrich of Oakland, Calif. and Sylvia M Daub of Barto; a brother, Robert Schwartz of Hegins; two sisters, Margaret Markawitz of Chambersburg and Isabelle Coleman of Hegins; sixteen grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Richard Wulf officiating.
