Marie Gertrude Miller Conrad, 92, of Hegins passed away Sunday at her home. Born in Orwigsburg, June 17, 1918 a daughter of the late Charles and Mamie Estella Hepler Miller Marie was a devoted stay at home wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. During the war, she worked in Harrisburg as a "Rosie the Riveter". She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins. Marie and her husband Joe opened their home to care for many family members throughout their marriage. She loved to cook for family and friends. In addition to her parents she was pre-deceased by her husband of 66 years, Dr. Joe E. Conrad; a grandson, Danny Joe Rothermel, step grandson, Daniel Barnes; brothers, Charles, Ralph, Frank, Leon and Robert Miller; sisters, Jenny Dunkelberger and Margaret Artz. Surviving are two daughters, F. Diane Wolfgang widow of Harold "Buddy", Hegins and Claire M. Barnes and her husband Michael, Hegins; three grandsons, Dr. Christopher L. Wolfgang, Baltimore, MD; Douglas M. Wolfgang, Harrisburg and Travis J. Rothermel, Hegins; three great-granddaughters, Whitney M. Wolfgang, Baltimore, MD; Madison and Gabrielle Rothermel, Hegins; a great grandson, Joseph Conrad Wolfgang, Baltimore; one brother, Roy Miller; two sisters, Betty Koppenhaver and Arlene Kimmel, all of Hegins. A private memorial was held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.
