Margaret A. Markowitz, age 95, of 14 Vista Lane, Newville, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Green Ridge Village, Newville. She was born on Friday, March 31, 1916, in Hegins, a daughter of the late William F Schwartz and Maude M Stutzman Schwartz. She was a member of Congregation Beth Tikvah, Carlisle. Her husband Abraham Markowitz passed away in 1984. She was also preceded in death by two brothers William Schwartz and Robert Schwartz, and three sisters Marie Herb, Isabelle Coleman, and Tillie Huntzinger. She is survived by a son Michael W Markowitz and his wife Nancy of Newville; and a granddaughter Sara J Markowitz of Newville. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Monday, January 23, 2012, at 2:00 pm. Burial was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
