Lois L Ney, age 90, of 427 S Spruce Street, Gratz, formerly of Valley View, passed away Friday, February 25, 2011 at her residence. She was born on Tuesday, March 9, 1920, in Stockton, CA, a daughter of the late A. T. and Vela V (Dean) Elsea. She was a graduate of Pasa Robles High School, Pasa Robles, CA. She was a wrapper at the former General Cigar Company, Mt Carmel and was also a seamstress at the former Philmark Mfg, Valley View, until her retirement. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View. Lois was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Atlanta Braves, and the Philadelphia Eagles. She was preceded in death by a brother Lawrence Elsea. She is survived by her husband Carl D Ney, to whom she was married for 46 years. She is also survived by a daughter Virginia R "Ginny" Wiest and her husband Bryant of Gratz; a step daughter Linda Ney of Croydon; a step son Carl S Ney and his wife Donna of Montoursville; three grandsons Cristopher K Holdeman and his wife Tiffany of Broomall, Matthew S Ney of Clarksville, TN, and Douglas J Ney of Williamsport; two great grandsons Andrew C Holdeman of Broomall and Ethan B Ney of Nashville, TN; a great granddaughter Isabella Ney of Nashville, TN; and a sister Georgie Wittman of San Ardo, CA. Memorial services were held at Christ United Church of Christ, Fountain, on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Claude Schach officiating. Visitation was held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the church. Burial was made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View.
