Leonard J Troup, age 77, of 35 Post Road, Ashland, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Saint Catherine Medical Center, Fountain Springs. He was born on Tuesday, November 15, 1932, in Barry Twp, a son of the late Daniel Troup and Carrie (Carl) Troup. He served in the US Army. He was a coal miner in area coal mines and had retired from the Hegins Mining Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice I (Deeter) Troup in 2006. He is survived by three sons Rodney L Troup of Ashland, Daryl A Troup and his fiancee Donna Snyder of Kulpmont, and Curtis A Troup and his wife Patricia of Ashland; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister Wrela Kimmel of Ashland. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Thursday, August 19, 2010, at 11:00 AM, with Rev John Clough officiating. A viewing was held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial was made in St. John's "Kimmel's" Cemetery, Ashland.
