Lawrence James Knorr, Sr, age 83, of 122 Deer Lane, Hegins. died Sunday, January 21, 2007 at St. Catherine's Hospital, Ashland. He was born in Klingerstown on March 14, 1923, a son of the late Fred and Ursula (Wolfgang) Knorr. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He retired as a coal miner having worked at several area coal mines. He was a member of VFW Post 8237 and American Legion Post 575 both of Valley View. His wife Betty I (Kroh) Knorr died in 1991. He is survived by a son Lawrence J Knorr, Jr, of Hegins; a daughter Christina L Stine of Hegins; a brother Lester Knorr of Dornsife; a sister Bernice Harter of Middletown; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral Services were at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 25th, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. A viewing was held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial was made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View. Condolences can be left for the family at www.buffingtonreed.com
