Joseph Ira Ney, 13, of 2001 E Center Street, Good Spring, passed away Sunday, August 19th, 2007 as the result of a motorcycle accident in Porter Twp. He was born in Pottsville, on May 11, 1994, the son of Paul R. Ney of Pine Grove and Heidi A Batz of Good Spring. He was a member of the 7th grade class of Williams Valley Jr. Sr. High School. He was a former member of the Williams Valley Mat Rats Wrestling Team. He enjoyed riding and working on his motorcycles and four wheelers, riding bicycle, playing Play Station, and playing football. Surviving in addition to his parents are paternal grandparents Raymond and Geraldine Ney of Davenport, Iowa; maternal grandparents John and Lois Batz of Good Spring; a sister Santana L Batz of Good Spring; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 23rd, with Rev. Donald Boyd officiating. A viewing was held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial was made in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery Tremont.
