Joseph D Frantz, age 80, of Erdman, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - E Norwegian, Pottsville.

He was born on Wednesday, April 6, 1938, in Pottsville, a son of the late William Frankenstein and the late Eleanor Edden Frankenstein.

He served in the US Air Force.

Joe retired from PP&L, Harrisburg.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Church, Erdman.

He was also a member of the IBEW #1600 of Harrisburg.

Joe was an avid mechanic and loved fixing things.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by a grandson; and by three sisters and a brother.

He is survived by his wife Rose M Klinger Frantz, to whom he was married for 50 years.

He is also survived by a daughter, Radell E Allgaier and her husband Richard of Drums; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Jane Murphy of Pottsville, Marie Caruano of Schuylkill Haven, and Ruth Smigo of Pottsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Church, Erdman, on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 10:00 am, with Rev. Jonathan Jenkins officiating.

Burial was made in Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Cemetery, Erdman.
