Obituary
Joseph W Ellinger, age 70, of Hegins, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Schuylkill Medical Center- S. Jackson, Pottsville.
He was born on Saturday, February 17, 1945, in Tremont, a son of the late Lee Ellinger and the late Mary Pauline Ney Ellinger.
He received the Purple Heart for his service in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Joe was employed at Guilford Mills, Pine Grove for over thirty years and retired from Supreme Mid Atlantic Corp, Jonestown.
He was a very active member of the Valley View Gun Club. He was also an avid fan of area youth sports and a #1 Fan of Tri-Valley Bulldog Sports. He enjoyed guns, shooting sporting clays, hunting, and fishing.
His wife, Gloria D Reidler Ellinger, passed away in 2011.
He is survived by two sons, Joe L Ellinger and his wife Brooke of Hegins and Mark D Ellinger of Tower City; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at 11:00 a.m, with Rev. Raymond Holland officiating.
