Joseph G. Wonchalk Sr.
Joseph G."Boomer" Wonchalk Sr., age 55, of 829 West Maple St, Valley View, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014 at his home.
He was born on Tuesday, March 24, 1959, in Pottsville a son of the late George Stine and Joanne Wiscount.
He was a Graduate of Pottsville High School and was employed as a welder for Thermo-Dynamics in Schuylkill Haven .
He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins.
He was also a member of Valley View Gun Club, he was an Umpire with the PIAA.
He is survived by his spouse Loretta (Slifko) Wonchalk, to whom he was married for 32 years.
He is also survived by one son, Joseph G. Wonchalk Jr. and his wife Lindsey of Palo Alto; one daughter, Kristie Wonchalk of Valley View, three grandchildren, Jaxson and Kane Wonchalk and Stella Saylor; and one brother, Stephen Wonchalk and his wife Caroline.
A Memorial Service was held at Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at 3:00 pm, with Rev. Warren Egebo officiating.
Visitation was held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday at Friedens Lutheran Church.
Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
