John M. Hand , age 51, of 15 2nd Street, Sacramento, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 5, 2012 at his home. He was born on Tuesday, November 8, 1960, in Lykens, a son of Kathryn M Hoffman Hand of Hegins, and the late Gene W Hand. He was employed by Farmer's Pride Poultry Plant, Fredericksburg. He was also a Deputy Conservation Officer for the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. He was a member of the Church of God, Valley View. He was also a member of Pheasants Forever. John was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Billy G Hand. He is survived by his wife Brenda L (Wolfe) Hand, to whom he was married for 27 years. Surviving in addition to his mother and wife are a son Christopher J Hand of Valley View; three daughters Laura L Chamberlain and her husband Kent of Pine Grove, Bethany L Hand of Valley View, and Emily M Hand of Sacramento; a brother David J Hand of Hegins; and a sister Carole M Riehl of Dayton, OH. Funeral services were held at the Church of God, Valley View, on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Gerald Frey officiating. A viewing was held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday at the church. Burial was made in Church of God Cemetery, Valley View.
