Click here to view the Video Tribute for John John G. Bruso, 80, of 1019 E Main Street, Hegins, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Saturday, February 10th, 2007 at his home. He was born in Cass Twp, Schuylkill County on January 10, 1927, a son of the late Michael and Helen (Kozura) Bruso. He was a graduate of the former Cass Twp High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He worked as a coal miner in several area coal mines until his retirement. He was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins. He was also a member of VFW Post 8237 of Valley View. He was a former member of the Hegins Fire Company and the Valley View Gun Club. He was preceded in death by his wife Pearl F (Knorr) Bruso. He is survived by two sons John D husband of April Bruso of Spring Glen and Bruce L husband of Amy Bruso of Hegins: three grandsons Beau D husband of Hilary Bruso of Hegins, Cody L Bruso and Cale R Bruso both of Hegins; a granddaughter Nikki P wife of Paul Sankus of Hegins; a great granddaughter Mazie M Sankus of Hegins; two sisters Helen Lazarchick and Mary Ceganic both of Primrose.; and a brother William Bruso of Primrose. Funeral services were held at Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13th, with Rev. Claude Schach officiating. A viewing was held on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Friedens United Church of Christ. Burial with Military Honors was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
