Joan I. Lowthert, age 60, of 424 Fearnot Rd, Sacramento, PA passed away Saturday, October 16th, 2004 at the home of her son in Pitman, Pa . She was born in Pottsville, Pa on August 23, 1944, a daughter of the late Alvin J.Schwartz, Sr and Hattie D. (Lucas) Schwartz of Joliett. She was a graduate of the former Porter Tower High School, Tower City, Pa. She was a Machine Operator at Hegins Precision, Division of Penn Reel Hegins, Pa until becoming ill. She was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church Fearnot , Pa.. She was a member of the Woodmen of the World and the Sacramento Fire Co.. Her husband Richard C. Lowthert died in 1975. Surviving in addition to her mother are two sons Richard S. husband of Deborah Lowthert, Pitman, Pa. and James D. husband of Jennifer Lowthert, New Tripoli, Pa, a daughter Beverly A. wife of Craig Schroeder, Lenhartsville, Pa.; three brothers Joseph Schwartz, Delaware, Alvin Schwartz, Jr., Good Spring, Pa., and Albert Schwartz, Fountain, Pa.; three sisters Caroline Hoffman, Tremont, Pa., Nancy Bixler, Sacramento, Pa., and Anna Bucher, Liverpool, Pa.. She is also survived by six grandchildren Amber E Lowthert, Victoria L Lowthert, Taylor J Schroeder, Jordan M Lowthert, Lea J Schroeder, and Jenna F Lowthert. Funeral services were held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, Pa. at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 20th, with Rev. William Danis officiating. A viewing was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct 19 and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the funeral home. Interment was made in St. Peter's Cemetery. Fearnot, Pa..
