Jo Ann Shade ,age 89, of Valley View, passed away Friday, April 4, 2025 at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, Tremont. She was born on Saturday, October 12, 1935, in Pottsville, PA, a daughter of Francis E Boos and Dorothy Weyman Boos.
She was a 1953 graduate of the former Mahanoy Joint High School. She was a Seamstress for area garment factories and was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.
She was preceded in death by her father, Francis E Boos, mother, Dorothy Boos, husband, Lenwood L Shade, brother, Ottto Boos, sister, Barbara Spotts, nephew, Curtiss Boos, daughter, Antoinette Shade.
She is survived by three daughters, Lori A (John) Klinger of Hegins, PA, Kathy J (Jeffrey) Reitz of Myrtle Beach, SC, Patricia L (Brendan) Stehr of Sacramento; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date. Burial will be made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View PA 17983.
Memorial contributions can be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.
