Jean E Klinger, age 90, of Valley View, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at her residence.
She was born on Tuesday, June 30, 1925, in Valley View, a daughter of the late Henry F Gable and the late Alma A Seitz Gable.
She was a 1943 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School and also a graduate of the Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing and Kutztown University.
She was a school nurse for theTri-Valley School District for 26 years.
She was a member of the Pine Creek United Methodist Church, Spring Glen.
Jean was a long time Sunday School teacher, a member of the Women's Bible Study Group, and various organizations at her church. She was very devoted to her family and to her church and was a wonderful gardener.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by a son, Ronald M Klinger.
She is survived by her husband Robert M "Whitey" Klinger, to whom she was married for 69 years.
She is also survived by s daughter, Sherryn L Minich and her husband Robert of Allentown; a granddaughter Elizabeth A Stack and her husband Spencer of Allentown; a grandson, Micah R Minich of Conshohocken; two great grandchildren, Leah and Brennan Stack; a brother, Myron Gable of Fairburn, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Monday, February 1, 2016, at 11:00 am, with Rev. William Danis officiating.
A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday at the funeral home.
Burial was made in St. Mark's Cemetery, Spring Glen.
