Clidk here to view the Video Tribute for James H Maurer, Sr. James Henry Maurer, Sr., age 65, of 817 E Main St., Hegins, died Friday, July 22nd, 2005 at his residence. He was born in Hegins, on February 7, 1940, a son of the late Clark S. and Emma Kathryn (Heckert) Maurer. He was a 1958 graduate of the Tri-Valley High School. He retired as the East Coast Warehouse Manager for Mrs. Smith's Frozen Foods Pottstown. He was an active member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Hegins. He was also a member of F&AM Valley Lodge 797, Bucktree Archery Club, and was past Pres. of the Hegins Rotary. Surviving are his wife Jane R. (Zimmerman) Maurer to whom he was married for 47 years. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons James H Maurer, Jr., Landisville, and John C Maurer, Hope Mills, NC.; two daughters Jill A. Maurer, Bethlehem, and Janet L Maurer, Ft. Myers, FL; a brother Theodore Maurer, Hegins; two sisters Carolyn Bender, Charlotte, NC and Barbara Williard, Wellsboro, and by 7 grandchildren. Memorial Services were held at St. John's United Methodist Church, Hegins, at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 26th, with Rev. William Danis officiating. Masonic Services were held at 10:45 A.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 285, Hegins, PA 17938.
