James Edward Emory, age 77, of Lancaster, formerly of Hegins Pa, died Sunday, June 5th, 2005 at Lancashire Manor, Lancaster, Pa. He was born in Coalfield,Tenn., on August 24, 1927, a son of the late Noah and Mellie (Oody) Emory. He was a 1945 graduate of Coalfield High School, Coalfield, Tenn. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII servicing on the USS Iowa and USS Columbus from 1945 to 1946. He enlisted in the Air Force and served for twenty years from 1954 to 1974. While in the Air Force he served in Colorado, Hawaii, Washington DC, Panama, California, and Korea. He was employed as a Postal Clerk for the Hegins Post Office until his retirement in 1992. He attended St. John's United Methodist Church, Hegins, Pa until moving to Lancaster in 2004. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, DAV, and American Legion Post 575 Valley View... He was the husband of Rita M (Deibert) Emory to whom he was married for 45 years Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter Tracy L. Sherman, Lititz, Pa; three sons Neal D. Emory, Douglassville, Pa,, James Emory and Joseph Emory, both of Georgia; two sisters Marjorie Alcorn, Knoxville, Tenn., and Juanita Lowe, Oliver Springs, Tenn. 4 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services were held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, Pa. at 11 A.M. on Saturday, June 18th, with Rev William Danis officiating. Visitation was held from 10:30 a.m. until 11 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial was made at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa..
