Ioma Catherine Coleman Smeltz, age 88, of 1524 W Main St, Valley View, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at her residence. She was born on Saturday, April 2, 1921 in Pitman a daughter of the late Charles Ochs and the late Edna (Kessler) Ochs. She received her LPN from the Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing. She retired as an LPN from the former Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View. She was preceded in death by her husband, Palmer D Smeltz in 1987. She was also preceded in death by a brother Alton Ochs and a sister Betty Otto. She is survived by a son, Gary R Coleman of Winchester, KY; three daughters, Carole M Holzinger of Hegins, Marcelle E Stiely of Klingerstown, and Linda S Zimmerman of Hegins; four grandsons, Todd R Stiely of Valley View, Michael S Stiely of Halifax, Craig A Coleman of Lexington, KY, and Justin J Fetterolf of Ashland; three granddaughters, Tara N Zimmerman of Hegins, Deana L Coddington of Cincinnati, OH, and Sonya L Schlegel of Brookeville, MD; a step grandson, Brandon C Zimmerman of Hegins; a step granddaughter, Jennifer M Zimmerman of Spring City; seven great grandchildren; and three sisters, Alberta N Blyler of Valley View, Ludella N Tobias of Sinking Springs, and Twila Artz of Fountain. Services were private at the convenience of the family at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with Rev. Gerald Frey officiating. Burial was made in the Church of God Cemetery, Valley View.
