Ida May Herner, age 86, of Rest Haven, Schuylkill Haven, formerly of Hegins, died Tuesday, December 27th, 2005 at Rest Haven. She was born in Coal Twp., on February 16, 1919, a daughter of the late George Monroe and Carrie (Kehres) Snyder. She was a graduate of the former Coal Twp. High School. She was a School Bus Aid and former Bus Driver at Tri-Valley School District before retiring. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Hegins. She was a member of the former Daughter's of America, Hegins, the Hegins Fire Co. Auxiliary, the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens, and the Woodmen of the World Pitman Lodge Her husband Paul Ralph Daniel Herner died in 1967. She is survived by a son Dr. Rev. Daniel G Herner, Lebanon; three daughters Sharon G Behm, Birdsboro, Corinne P Wolfgang, Hegins, and Mae E Allvord, Duboistown; a brother Irvin Snyder, Shamokin; a sister Ada Orner, Enola; 9 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, at St. John's United Methodist Church, Hegins, with Rev. William Danis officiating. A viewing was held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Burial was made in St. John's Cemetery, Hegins. Memorial contributions can be made to St. John's United Methodist Church Hegins, PA 17938 or to the Alzheimers Association. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
