Obituary

Herman Frieling, 82, of 1064 W Mountain Rd Hegins, passed away Thursday, December 21st, 2006 at Manor Care, Pottsville. He was born in Grundy Center, Iowa, on September 29, 1924, a son of the late Harm and Mary (Peters) Frieling. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a self employed farmer and retired as a presser at D & M Manufacturing, Minersville. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View. He was also a member of American Legion Post 575, and VFW Post 8237, both of Valley View and the Sacramento Fire Company. His wife Frieda Mae (Coleman) Frieling died Sept 27, 2006. He was also preceded in death by two brothers Michael and Benjamin Frieling and by two sisters Anna Wolfe and Etta Wite. He is survived by three daughters Mary A wife of LeRoy Dunkelberger of Hegins, Susan L wife of Richard Snyder of Yorba Linda, Cal, and Ruth E wife of Thomas Harner of Lykens; by three sons Philip H husband of Dorothy Frieling, Kenneth A Frieling, and David M Frieling all of Hegins; and by six grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27th, with Rev. Carl Shankweiler officiating. A viewing was held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial was made in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Valley View. Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O.
