Helen Katherine Haubenstine, age 76, of Valley View, formerly of Moon Lake, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at her residence. She was born on Monday, March 30, 1931 in Joliett, a daughter of the late Jacob and Katie (Scholl) Bordner. She was a graduate of the former Porter Twp High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L Haubenstine in 2004. She is survived by a son, David L Haubenstine and his wife, Sharon of Valley View; three granddaughters, Dawn M McGrath of Tremont, Dana L High of Hegins, and Devan R Wenner of Minersville; nine great grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Bordner of Elizabethtown. Burial was made in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, 214 Airport Road, Minersville, PA 17954.
