Helen I. Coleman McAfee, age 94, of Dover Foxcroft, ME, formerly of Hegins, Pa., and Philadelphia, Pa., passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover Foxcroft. She was born on Wednesday, August 26, 1914 in Hegins Twp, Pa., a daughter of the late Francis Coleman and the late Clara (Holdeman) Coleman. She was a graduate of the former Hegins Twp. High School and received her nursing degree in Philadelphia. She also received a degree in education. She was employed as a nurse in several Philadelphia area hospitals and doctors offices. She had retired as a school nurse for District 7 in Philadelphia. She lost her husband, Robert McAfee during her middle years. She was also preceded in death by two brothers Roy and John; and by three sisters Bertha, Norma, and Maude. She is survived by a sister, Jean Moyer of Shenandoah; and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be made at the convenience of the family in Fountain Community Cemetery, Fountain, Pa. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
