Harry Elwood Klinger, age 83, of 242 Hill Road, Hegins, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010 at Schuylkill Medical Center- East, Pottsville. He was born on Sunday, November 14, 1926 in Barry Twp, a son of the late Russell L Klinger and the late Lillian M (Carl) Klinger. He was a self employed coal miner and had also worked for several area mines. He also did painting and carpenter work many area residents. He was of the Protestant Faith. Harry enjoyed fishing, gardening, and playing guitar. He was preceded in death by six brothers Russell, Jr, Leroy, Gurney, Roger, Mark, and Larry Klinger; and two sisters Edna Moyer and Shirley Madenford. He is survived by his wife, Sarah C (Knorr) Klinger, to whom he was married for 60 years. He is also survived by three sons, Stephen H Klinger of Hegins, Andrew K Klinger of Ashland, and Matthew A Klinger of Hegins; five daughters, Nancy I Hatter and her husband, Roy of Pine Grove, Mary L Kaufman of Ashland, Rosemary M Klinger of Hegins, Judy M Bohard and her husband, Steve of Nazareth, and Melody A Molnar and her husband, Craig of Hegins; nineteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, two brothers, Harley Klinger of Mountain Top, and Donald Klinger of Ashland; three sisters, Ada Fishburn of Ashland, Fern Clark of Mountain Top, and Linda Kehler of Montana; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. A viewing was held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial was in Salem Cemetery, Weishample.
