Harry James Beaver, age 67, of 107 S Vista Road, Valley View, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 at his residence. He was born on Sunday, October 1, 1944, in Hegins, a son of the late Harry J and Blanche L (Keim) Beaver. He was a graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School. He served in the US Navy. He was employed by the Department of the Army in Alexandria VA and Washington DC in computer date entry until his retirement. He was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins. He was also a member of American Legion Post 575, Valley View and the Valley View Gun Club. He was the caretaker at Friedens Cemetery, Hegins. He is survived by a brother John W Beaver of Leesburg, VA; a sister Violet I Johnson of Baltimore, MD; and four nieces and two nephews. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Thursday, October 20, 2011, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Claude Schach officiating. A viewing was held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins. Condolences can be left for the family at www.buffingtonreed.com .
