Obituary

Harold L Blazer, age 84, of 736 Chestnut Street, Hegins, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on Monday, July 12, 1926, in State College, a son of the late Francis and Anna Blazer. He was a 1944 graduate of State College High School and had attended Penn State University. He served in the US Navy during World War II and received the Purple Heart for his service. He also served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a mail carrier for the US Postal Service and was also the owner of Blazer's Orchard until his retirement. He was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins. He is survived by his wife Dorothy L (Willier) Blazer, to whom he was married for 62 years. He is also survived by three daughters Bonnie L Yost and her husband Robert of Indianapolis, IN, Vicki S Blazer of Kearneysville, WV, and Cherie R Troisi and her husband Robert of Glen Allen, VA; two sons Keith M Blazer and his wife Nancy of Hegins, and Kurt H Blazer of Hegins; six grandchildren Steven Blazer, Laurie Blazer, Christopher Blazer, Ben Blazer, Michelle Yost, and Alexandra Troisi; and a great grandson Gavin Blazer. Private services wete held at Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins, with Rev. Claude Schach officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Friedens United Church of Christ, P.O.
