Gregory J Baia, age 61, formerly of Harrisburg passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013. He was born on Wednesday, March 12, 1952, in Bethpage, NY, a son of the late Francis P and Josephine Bassalin Baia. He was a 1970 graduate of Marlboro High School, Marlboro NJ. He served in the US Air Force in Vietnam. He was of the Catholic Faith. He was a member of the Hummelstown VFW Post 1687. Greg was employed at The Hershey Company and Turkey Hill prior to becoming disabled. He is survived by his mother Ann Marie Baia of Spring Hill, FL; two sons Joseph L Baia and his wife Abigail of Shiremanstown and Michael T Baia of Cleona; four grandchildren; two brothers John Baia of Emmaus and Paul Baia of Spring Hill, FL; four sisters Francine Baia of Spring Hill, FL, Diane Baia Claveloux of Leland, NC, Annmarie Baia-Bellantuono of Manalapan, NJ, and Maria St John of Howell, NJ; and by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Saturday, December 21, 2013, at 1:00 pm, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. A viewing was held from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will be made in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell FL at 11a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2013.
