Grace C Neye, age 85, of 507 W Main Street, Valley View, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Schuylkill Medical Center- E Norwegian, Pottsville. She was born on Wednesday, January 25, 1928, in Locust Dale, a daughter of the late Louis and Angeline Reese Overkott. She was a seamstress for the former Guttman Garment Factory, Valley View. She was a member of the Valley View Church of God. Grace enjoyed stamp collecting, refinishing furniture, gardening, painting pictures, and collecting baseball cards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vere F Neye, in 1999. She is survived by son David S Neye and his wife Jean of Klingerstown; a daughter Jan M Bettinger of Sinking Spring; a grandson William Neye of Palmyra; two granddaughters Jennifer Neye of Hegins and Angela Bettinger of Womelsdorf; a great grandson Tristan Neye of Palmyra; two great granddaughters Jaysa Reimer of Womelsdorf and Kadie Neye-Wilder of Hegins; a sister Helen Penneypacker of Paxinos; and a brother Kenneth Overkott of Virginia. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Todd Wolfe officiating. A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial was made in the Church of God Cemetery, Valley View.
