Gerard W Conrad, age 70, of 1747 W Main Street, Valley View, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on November 4, 1942 in Valley View, a son of the late William and Marie Umholtz Conrad. He was a 1960 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. He served in the US Navy as a Fire Control Technician (Gunfire Control) from 1960 - 1963 on the U.S.S. The Sullivans DD-537. He was a steel worker for Bethlehem Steel, Steelton, prior to his retirement. He is survived by two sisters, Marilyn Mims of Stanley, North Carolina and Darlene Ruzicka of Santa Monica, California; and nieces, nephews and many cousins. Memorial Services were held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29,2013 at Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Church, Erdman with Rev Jonathan Jenkins officiating. Interment was made in Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Cemetery. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, Pennsylvania was in charge of arrangements.
