Click here to view the Video Tribute for George George Lohr, 81, of 244 Mahantongo St, Hegins, died Thursday, January 11th, 2007 at Pottsville Hospital, Pottsville . He was born in Dornsife, on April 11, 1925, a son of the late John and Katie (Miller) Lohr. He was a sawmill owner and the owner of the former Lohr's Cycle Shop. He served as a Hubley Township Supervisor and Roadmaster for over twenty years. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View. He was preceded in death by six brothers John, Elias, Adam, William, Francis, and James Lohr; and by two sisters Emma Schreffler and Maude Lenker He is survived by his wife Elsie I (Klouser) Lohr, to whom he was married for 62 years. He is also survived by a son Steven S. Lohr and his wife Patti of Hegins; a daughter Dr. Georgetta D. Lupold and her husband Lanny of Valley View; three grandchildren Dr. Chris P Lupold of Charlottesville, VA, Amy Lupold Bair of Olney, MD, and Brittany M Lohr of Hegins; and two great grandchildren Emma and Noah Bair. Funeral services were held at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 14th, with Rev. Philip Sabas officiating. A viewing was held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Burial was in St. Paul's Cemetery, Sacramento, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 221, Valley View PA 17983.
