Franklin R Stahl, age 91, of Valley View, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016 at theTremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on Friday, April 3, 1925, in Valley View, a son of the late Irvin M Stahl and the late Josephine Koppenhaver Stahl.

He was a truck driver for the former Kocher Coal Company, prior to his retirement.

He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sacramento.

He was also a member of American Legion 575, VFW Post 8237, both of Valley View, and the Valley View Gun Club, and a former member and Chief of the Valley View Fire Company.

Stahlie enjoyed taking care of his vehicles and attending local sports events.

His wife Pauline J Mayer Stahl passed away in 2013. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Stahl; and two sisters Anna Umholtz and Margaret Harner.

He is survived by a daughter, Darlene L Hepler of Valley View; two granddaughters, Melissa A Balsavage and Jennifer L Hepler both of Valley View; four great granddaughters , Madelyn M Balsavage, Gracie M Balsavage, Savanna N Magdeburg, and Sofie A Balsavage all of Valley View; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services was held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Friday, September 2, 2016, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Raymond Holland officiating.

A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday at the funeral home.

Burial was made in St. Paul's Cemetery, Sacramento.
