Florence Hellen Eckler, 90, of 704 W. Maple Street, Valley View passed away Sunday May 13th at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville. Born in Rebuck on December 4, 1916 a daughter of the late James Burlington and Elma Louvina Bohner Kieffer. Mrs. Eckler and her late husband owned and operated the former Eckler's Hotel in Klingerstown. She was also a seamstress for many years at local garment factories. She was a member of Himmel's Lutheran Church, Rebuck She was pre-deceased by her husband, Ernest E. in 1991, Two brothers, Harry and Albert Kieffer and a sister Anna Charlton. Surviving are her son, Dennis L. Eckler of Tower City, two daughters, Donna M. Reynolds-Hoert of Alexandria VA and Dianne E. Felty of Jonestown. 2 Brothers - Ralph Kieffer of Halifax and James Kieffer of Klingerstown. 3 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandson. Services were held Thursday, May 17th at 2:00 pm from the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View. Burial was made in St. John's Cemetery, Hegins. A viewing was held from 1-2 at the funeral home.
