Evelyn M Koons, age 83, of 1454 W Maple Street, Valley View, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at her residence. She was born on Tuesday, January 20, 1931, in Spring Glen, a daughter of the late Leo Moyer and Edna Michael Moyer. She was a presser in area garment factories prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View. Her husband Ceylon G Koons passed away in 1992. She was also preceded in death by a brother Roger Moyer and a sister Marie Klinger. She is survived by a daughter Faye D Koons of Valley View; a grandson Joseph J Koons of Valley View; her beloved dog Abby; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 1382 W Main Street, Valley View, on Monday, March 10, 2014, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Duane Bardo officiating. A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday at the church. Burial was made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View.
