Obituary

Eric R. Schalles, age 70, of Ashland, Barry Twp, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026.


He was born on June 15, 1956, in Berwick, a son of the late Rodney and Vera Jane (Moyer) Schalles. Eric graduated from Berwick High School in 1974. He worked for Asplundh Tree Expert Company for many years.


He was a devoted member of St. John's 'Kimmel's' Church in Barry Township. He enjoyed serving his community as a Little League coach and as an assistant Scout leader for his troop.

He is survived by his wife Angela R. (Hinkel) Schalles, to whom he was married for 48 years; his daughter, Erica Schalles; his son, Scott Schalles and his wife, Christina; grandchildren, Myles, Stella, Wells; his sisters, Beth Ann Schalles and her husband, Joseph Castel, Tracey Gibson and her husband, Bob; his sisters-in-law, Anita Bixler and her husband, Ronnie, Beth Huntsinger and her husband, Bob; along with many nieces, nephews, friends and family.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, and nephew, Zachariah Readler.

Funeral services will held at St. John's "Kimmel's" Church, Ashland, on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM , with Pastor Joshua Mowery officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at St John's "Kimmel's Church, Ashland.

Burial will be in St. John's "Kimmel's" Cemetery, Ashland PA 17921.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. John's "Kimmel's" Church, 1263 Deep Creek Road, Ashland PA 17921.
