After a long and fulfilling life, Emma Mae Klinger , age 99, of Bridge Rd, Hegins, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at her home with her daughters by her side.
She was born on Monday, March 13, 1916, in Hegins, a daughter of the late Rufus Kessler and the late Louise Schwartz Kessler.
Emma worked on many local farms and at the former Valley View Manufacturing Company until her retirement.
She was a member of the former Weishample Church of God.
Emma was also a member of the Tri-Valley Senior Citizen, the Mahantongo Senior Citizens and the Senior Citizens Pennsylvania German Chorus.
Her husband Elwood "Teddy" W Klinger died in 1964. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Allen Kessler, Freddie Kessler, Raymond Kessler, and Mark Kessler; and by three sisters, Verna Kimmel, Laura Geist, and Kathryn Schweinhart.
She is survived by a son, Randy L Klinger and his wife Linda of Levenworth, Kansas; two daughters, Diane R Hess and her husband Robert of Souderton, and Donna M Kimmel and her husband James of Hegins; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Church of God, Valley View, on Sunday, September 6, 2015, at 4:00 pm.
A viewing was held from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday at the church.
Burial was made in the Church of God Cemetery, Weishample.
Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
