Elvin D. Morgan, 52, of 11 Reservoir Road, Hegins, died Thursday, June 24, 2004, at his residence. Born in Hegins, June 26, 1951, he was a son of the late Charles E. Morgan and Betty G. Carl Morgan of Hegins, Pa. He was an army veteran in the Vietnam war. He was a correctional officer at the Graterford Correctional Facility until retirement. He was a 1969 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. He was a friend of St. Andrew's U.M. Church, Valley View, and American Legion Post 575, Valley View, for 29 years. He was preceded in death by one sister, Judy P. Morgan. Surviving in addition to his mother, are his wife of 6 years, the former Edna M. Rice; three sons, Bryan K. Morgan of R. D. Ashland, Jeremy D. Richards of R. D. Hegins, Pa., and Christopher C. Morgan, of Hegins, Pa., two brothers, Leonard D. Morgan of Hegins and Barry L. Morgan of Hegins, one sister, Doris M. Morgan of Valley View, 9 grandchildren. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2004 from St. Andrew's U. M. Church, Valley View. There was a viewing, Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew's U.M. Church. The Rev. George Reynolds officiated.
