Click here to view the Video Tribute for Elvin Elvin Leroy Koppenhaver, age 89, of 2360 E Main Street, Sacramento, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Schuylkill Medical Center- East, Pottsville. He was born on Monday, October 4, 1920 in Sacramento, a son of the late Hannah (Schmeltz) Herb. He worked for the former Rissinger's Feed Mill, as a coal miner in area coal mines, he had owned and operated a chicken broiler business in the Gratz area, and was also a self employed carpenter. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sacramento; where he was a former member of the consistory. He was also a member of the Sacramento Fire Company, Gratz Fire Company, Line Mountain Good Sam Camping Club, and the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens. He is survived by his wife, Ruth E. (Dietrich) Koppenhaver, to whom he was married for 61 years. He is also survived by a daughter, Carolyn M Frady and her husband, Michael of Alexandria, VA; two sons, Robert E Koppenhaver and his wife, Pam of Spring Glen, and Bruce A Koppenhaver of Spring Glen; two granddaughters, Kelly M Wheeler of Springfield, VA, and Brooke J Koppenhaver of Valley View; four grandsons, Brec F Koppenhaver of Hegins, Dustan B Koppenhaver of Lehighton, Eric M Frady of Springfield, VA, and Broc R Koppenhaver of Spring Glen; a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn M Wheeler of Springfield, VA; and a brother, Harold Herb of Elizabethville. Funeral services were held at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sacramento, on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Raymond Holland officiating. A viewing was held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Burial was made in St. Paul's Cemetery, Sacramento.
