Edward H Kimmel. age 79, of Hegins, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest, Allentown.

He was born on Sunday, June 13, 1943, in Barry Township, a son of the late Harold Kimmel and the late Carrie (Shuey) Kimmel.

He was a 1961 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and a graduate of Mansfield University and Lehigh University.

He taught at Williams Valley and Tri-Valley School Districts and retired as Middle School Principle at Pine Grove School District.

He was a member of Barry Salem United Methodist Church, Weishample.

Ed's passion in life was training and racing horses. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Harness Horsemen's Association

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Edith Header.

He is survived by his wife Rita Jean (Dreibelbis) Kimmel, to whom he was married for 56 years.

He is also survived by a daughter, Pamela S Kimmel and her husband Jim Rappold of Macungie; a brother, James Kimmel and his wife Donna of Hegins; a brother in law, Charles "Chip" Header of Ashland; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Benjamin Scholl officiating.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be made Salem Cemetery, Ashland .
