Edna M. Klinger


Edna M. Klinger , age 84, of 14 Hemlock Drive, Valley View, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born on Monday, February 3, 1930, in Hegins, a daughter of the late Raymond and Mabel (Lucas) Deeter.

She was a graduate of the Hegins Township High School.

Edna was employed as a Linotype operator at the Valley Citizen, she owned and operated her own print business and after her retirement worked at Bixler's Meats.

She was a member of the Valley View Church of God. Edna enjoyed planting and working with her flowers and going to dinner on Sunday's with Pastor Bo and the church ladies.

She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

Edna will be remembered for her loving and giving nature.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gurney Klinger Sr. who passed away June 13, 1988, 2 half brothers, Mark Deeter and Clark Deeter, seven brothers, John, Earl, Raymond, Clarence, Larry, Lloyd and Leonard Deeter and two sisters, Gladys Bloch and Beatrice Troup.

She is survived by daughter, Linda Darosh and her husband Edward of Tower City, PA; three sons, Gurney Klinger, Jr. and his wife Joy, Dennis Klinger and his wife Linda, and Dale Klinger and his wife Linda all of Valley View; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchild; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Grace Herb and Martha Bosco; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Valley View Church of God, 900 West Main St., Valley View on Friday, August 15, 2014, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Gerald Frey officiating.

A viewing was held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday at the church.

Burial was made in Church of God Cemetery, Valley View.
