Click here to view the Video Tribute for Earl Earl Irvin Starr, age 75, of 1466 W Main Street, Valley View, passed away Tuesday, December 5th, 2006 at his residence. He was born in Valley View, on October 25, 1931, a son of the late Earl W and Mildred (Wagner) Starr. He was a graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a partner in the Valley View Bottling Works, Valley View. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View. He was also a member of American Legion Post 468 Tower City, F&AM Swatara Lodge 267, Reading Consistory, Schuylkill Shrine Club, Rajah Shrine, Reading. He was a lifetime member of the Valley View Gun Club and the Valley View Fire Company. He is survived by his wife Minerva I. (Herb) Starr, to whom he was married for 50 years Surviving in addition to his wife are a son Dennis E husband of Ursula Starr, Valley View; a daughter Donna D wife of Alvin Sitlinger, Hegins; a grandson David E Schwalm, Hegins; a granddaughter Katrina L Schwalm, Hegins; a great grandson Jacob D Schwalm, Hegins; a great granddaughter Bryce R Schwalm, Hegins; and a sister Shirley Hylton, Valley View. He was preceded in death by a brother Willis Starr. Memorial Services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 9th, with Rev. Carl Shankweiler officiating. Masonic Services were conducted by members of Swatara Lodge 267 at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
