Obituary

Earl Raymond Klinger, age 79, of 62 Orchard Drive, Hegins, died Wednesday, November 30th, 2005 at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, Tremont. He was born in Barry Twp, Schuylkill County, on March 14, 1926, a son of the late Charles Klinger and Verna E (Neumeister) Shoffler. He retired as a self employed coal miner. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Country Church, Hegins. He is survived by his wife Betty J. (Harner) Klinger to whom he was married for 56 years Surviving in addition to his wife are four brothers Harry Shoffler, Ashland, Donald Shoffler, Gratz, Terry Shoffler, Gordon, and Jackie Shoffler, Ashland; three sisters Betty Newman, Dalmatia, Shirley Sallada, Hegins, and Joy Klinger, Valley View. He was preceded in death by a son Gary L Klinger in 1977; by two brothers Jacob Shoffler and Larry Shoffler; and by three sisters Virginia Smith, Eleanor Smith Shoffler, and Grace Smith Etzweiler. Funeral services were held at The Country Church, Hill Rd, Hegins, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 4th, with Rev. Malcom Burns and Rev.Daniel Heckman officiating. A viewing was held from 1 to 2p.m. on Sunday at the church Burial with Military Honors were made in Salem Cemetery Weishample,.
