Doris J Sallada, age 77, of 1306 W Maple Street, Valley View, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was born on Thursday, December 5, 1935, in Hegins Twp, a daughter of the late Calvin Bixler and Sue Kissinger Bixler. She was a graduate of the former Porter Tower High School. She had worked in area garment factories and had sold and collected antiques for most of her life. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View. Doris enjoyed gardening, reading, and collecting antiques. She was preceded in death by infant twins. She is survived by her husband Fayne L Sallada, Sr., to whom she was married for 58 years. She is also survived by three sons Fayne L Sallada, Jr and his wife Susan of Valley View, Robert A Sallada and his wife Debra of West Lawn, Ronald E Sallada and his wife Cheryl of Lakeland, FL; two granddaughters Sommer L Sallada of Valley View and Cara E Snyder of West Lawn; three sisters Faith Hoffman of Mt Holly Springs, Shirley Killian of Frystown, and Norma Leininger of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Brian Beissel officiating.
