Doris E Edwards, age 90, of Valley View, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023 at her residence.

She was born on Sunday, January 29, 1933, in Mowry, a daughter of the late Robert Pennypacker and the late Katie (Dengler) Pennypacker.

She was a graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School.

Doris worked at the former Valley View Enterprises, prior to her retirement.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View.

Doris was also a member of the American Legion Post 575 Auxiliary, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Valley View Fire Company, and the Tri-Valley CB Club. She enjoyed camping, playing pinochle, collecting thimbles, playing solitaire, spending time with her family, and communicating with her family and friends on her cell phone and tablet.

Her husband, Glenn W Edwards, passed away in 1991. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Glenn R Pennypacker, and two sisters, Betty S Bowman and Kathryn Schu.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan K Sallada and her husband Fayne of Valley View, a granddaughter, Sommer L Sallada of Scranton; her dog Penny, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Inc, Valley View, on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Valley View.
