Donald W "Benny" Bensinger, age 65, of Hegins, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at his residence.

He was born on Friday, June 1, 1951, in Ashland, a son of the late Warren D Bensinger and the late Margaret A Latanishen Bensinger.

He was a 1970 graduate of Tri-Valley High School.

He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

He delivered fuel for Morgan Oil, Inc, Hegins.

He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.

He was also a member of American Legion Post 575 Valley View.

Benny enjoyed local dirt track racing, hunting, fishing, and camping.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by a brother, Lawrence W Bensinger; and by a brother in law, Richard Love.

He is survived by his wife Carol A Love Bensinger, to whom he was married for 39 years.

He is also survived by two sons, Kevin D Bensinger and his wife Jill of Frackville, and Scott A Bensinger of Hegins; a granddaughter, Addy M Bensinger of Frackville; a niece, Kelly A Bensinger of Valley View; three nephews, John Love of Valley View, Richard Love, Jr of Tremont, and Steven Love of Tremont; a sister in law, Brenda L Bensinger of Valley View; and a brother in law, Dale E Love of Pine Grove.

Funeral services were private at the convenience of the family at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with Rev. Duane Bardo officiating.

Private burial with Military Honors was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
