Derrick Bryan Roadcap, age 35, of 501 Front Street, Millersburg, passed away Monday, August 18, 2008 at the home of his parents Gary L. and Ellen K (Hassinger) Roadcap, 825 W Maple Street, Valley View. He was born on Thursday, August 24, 1972 in Pottsville. He was a 1990 graduate Upper Dauphin Area High School and a graduate of Francis Marion University, Florence S.C. He was a member of the baseball team for both his high school and college. He was an Instructor of Juvenile Rehabilitation for Cornell-Abraxis, Harrisburg. He was a member of Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz. He was also a member of F&AM Susquehanna Lodge, Millersburg, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Millersburg Forrest, Millersburg Rod and Gun Club, a former member of the Dauphin County Republican Committee, and a former member of the Millersburg Borough Council. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and he loved to cook. He was preceded in death by an infant son Brenner Lee Roadcap, and maternal grandparents Harold and Janet (Kuhn) Hassinger. Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister Katrina N Dubendorf and her husband Steven of Jonestown; a nephew Chase S Dubendorf of Jonestown; a step son, Alex Teter of Elizabethville; paternal grandparents, Ward and Eleanor (Umholtz) Roadcap of Millersburg; aunts, uncles, and cousins. Services were held at Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Noon with Rev. Barry Ridge officiating assisted by Rev. Curtis Zemencik. A viewing was held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Masonic Services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Burial will be made at the convenience of the family in Union Cemetery, Gratz. Memorial contributions can be made to the Derrick B.
