Click here to view the Video Tribute for Del Delbert Kirkwood Knotts, age 78, of 458 S Goodspring Road, Hegins, passed away Thursday, March 15th, 2007 at the Pottsville Hospital . He was born in Garrett County, Maryland on December 6, 1928, a son of the late Theodore L and Tasie B (Mersing) Knotts. He served in the U.S. Air Force for twenty years and then retired as an Investigator for the Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles in Cumberland, Md. He was a member of the Valley View Church of God. He is survived by his wife Dotty M (Bolyard) Knotts, to whom he was married for 60 years. Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons Keith L Knotts of Tallahassee Fl., Dennis C Knotts of Dayton, Ohio., Steven D Knotts of Hegins., and Randy J Knotts serving in the US Air Force in England; by a daughter Carla J Thomas of Sacramento, Pa; by fourteen grandchildren; by three great grandchildren; and by two sisters Bernadine Friend of Marysville, Tenn. and Vickie of Maryland. He was preceded in death by a son Terry E Knotts in 1999 and by a brother Theodore Knotts. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 19th, with Rev. Gerald Frey officiating.
