Click here to view the Video Tribute for Dean Dean Ray Geist, age 72, of 171 Deep Creek Road, Hegins, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital, Danville. He was born on Saturday, January 8, 1938, in Hegins Twp, a son of the late Earl L Geist and Neva V (Ely) Geist. He was a 1955 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School. He served in the Army Reserve. He was employed as a carpenter for Herman Miller Construction and Harold Miller Construction, both of Hegins, Imperial Homes, Hegins, and retired from Supreme Corporation, Jonestown. Dean enjoyed watching sports, reading, and wood working. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View. He is survived by his wife Sandra M (Harpster) Geist, to whom he was married for 33 years. He is also survived by a daughter Deana K Rebuck and her husband Kenny of Hegins; a step daughter Rhonda R Mausser of Pace, FL; a grandson Kody of Hegins; four step granddaughters Ashley, Alisa, Amanda, and Alexis all of Florida; two brothers Roy A Geist and Palmer E Geist both of Hegins; a godchild Dean Parry; and three step great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Philip Sabas officiating. Burial was made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 221, Valley View PA 17983.
