Obituary

David Walter White, age 50, of 499 S Goodspring Rd, Hegins, died Saturday, January 7th, 2006 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was born in Ithaca, NY on May 29, 1955, a son of Charles A White, Hegins and Janet L (Chase) Cronquist of Port Clinton, Ohio. He was a 1973 graduate of Upper Dauphin Area High School, Elizabethville and a graduate of MTA of Harrisburg. He served as a Sgt. in the US Army in Southwest Asia from Dec 9, 1991 to May 19, 1991 during Desert Shield\Desert Storm with the 121st Transportation Unit. During his service he received the Army Service Ribbon, Sharpshooter M-16 Rifle Badge, Sharpshooter M-60 Machine Gun Badge, Expert Hand Grenade & M203 Grenade Launcher Badge, Army Commendation Award, National Defense Award, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, Saudi Arabian Liberation of Kuwait Award, Kuwait Liberation of Kuwait Award, and the Meritorious Unit Citation Award. He was employed as a Truck Driver at Werner Enterprise Hazelton until becoming ill. He is survive by his wife Dianne L (Wenrich) White to whom he was married for 31 years. Surviving in addition to his parents and his wife are a daughter Adele L wife of David Wolfgang, Valley View; two brothers Charles S White, Raymond, Ohio and Richard A White, Valdosta, Georgia; one sister Lorraine Hoch, West Hazelton; and 2 Step grandchildren. Memorial Graveside Services were held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17th with Chaplain Richard Morris officiating . Burial with Military Honors was made in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in memory of David to the Hospice Unit, Ward 1-4B, Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 South Lincoln Ave, Lebanon PA 17042.
